2011 Summer Classic – June 25

2011 Summer Classic, Youth Grappling League’s inaugural event, will be held June 25th in Bellevue, WA at Ring Sports United.  The event will include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling and is open to competitors 17 and under.

All finals matches will be held at the end of the division, in a ring, where all eyes are focussed on the finals action.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive medals.  All competitors will receive at least 2 matches per division.

Click here for event rules and allowed submissions.  Competitors will be bracketed based on experience level, age and weight.  We will not be using predefined weight divisions for this event.  Please DO NOT have your child cut weight for this event.  Brackets will be arranged in a fair manner to create competitive match ups based on the athletes who enter.   There will also be Novice/White Belt (Points only) brackets for competitors under 9 years of age.  Grapplers under 9 who wish to compete in brackets that allow submissions can still enter the White/Yellow belt (BJJ) / Beginner (No gi) bracket.  We hopes the Points only brackets will create an arena for the youngest athletes to compete in a safe and fun environment that focusses on position over submission.

Registration for the event will cost $25 for one division and $30 for both divisions.  Registration deadline will be June 20 11:59pm. Click here for registration and Paypal payment.  Youth Grappling League T-shirts will be on sale for $10 if purchased at the time of registration or for $20 at the event.  Spectators will cost $5.  One spectator is allowed per each competitor.  Spectators under 10 years of age are free.
